Let us discuss some of the things you can do to grow your business, no matter how small it may be.

Know your market. You can’t please everyone, and you certainly can’t cater to each and everyone’s needs and/or wants. By knowing your market, you can focus on your clients better, and provide better services and products.

Go ahead and ask for referrals. Being in business means that there is absolute no room to be shy. You don’t just wait for your clients to put in a good word for you. Be proactive and ask your existing clients for referrals. This is fairly easy if you know you’re doing a good job and you’ve satisfied your customer, then ask if they know someone who will be interested in your products or services.

Take part in fairs, bazaars or trade shows. Just make sure you choose the ones you attend very carefully. Choose the ones that are relevant to the services or products you are offering. This way, you can be sure that the people who are attending are actually interested in what you have to offer.

Expand your reach. Don’t just stay put in one place. Extend your market reach by opening up other avenues where you can sell or can be reached. Post ads online if you have been marketing offline. Set up a new store in a different location. Reach out via Facebook or Twitter if you can. These are surefire ways to reach more people and gain more customers.

Keep improving. Be diverse. There will always be room for improvement, so keep an open mind and try to keep innovating. Join seminars or take classes to improve your current products or services offered. This way, you keep your clients satisfied and give them reason to keep coming back for more.

After you have given your windows, walls, and floors the appropriate weather protection treatment they need, you can go on and think about your decorative elements. For your windows, don’t ditch your light curtains just yet. You can use materials that are translucent enough to as much natural light as possible to pass through. As for your floors, this is the time for you to give your carpets and rugs a rest – roll them up, give them a good cleaning, and store them for the next season. You can then shift your focal points to the walls and take the colors of summer through the rainy season. Opt for the warm and bright hues of reds, oranges, and yellows in your wall decor and art pieces.

Some would put this step to simply involve accepting what is and what is not, what could and what could not. This basically means grounding yourself to reality so that you do not expect to have, do, or accomplish more than what is possible. Ironically, this attitude often gives you a better disposition and drive that ultimately leads to better performance and productivity. In a world where virtually everyone is interconnected through the internet, even our kids are craving for some online interaction with their friends. Teachers are also online and sometimes send out announcements and homework through social networking sites. The problem with this is that when our kids go online, they also gain access to a whole lot of information and materials that they should not yet be exposed to. Worse than that, they can also fall prey to malicious online lurkers.

If you think about it, it really is not just an issue of age but more so an issue of parental guidance. Kids should not be allowed to go online for whatever reason without parental supervision. Parents should be able to monitor their children’s online activity both in and out of social networking sites.

It’ll be futile to shun computer use and internet connection but you can take precautions to ensure your child’s online safety.  You and your child can agree on a specific time when he would be allowed to go online to check for messages from his friends or teachers. You can also agree on which sites have to be restricted.  It is also a good idea for you to be in control of your child’s password so that you can check and block any malicious or inappropriate postings that get through your safety settings.
