When your child reach school age, parents must carefully decide whether the child would attend a private, public or home school. If ever you wish to have your child under homeschooling first, you need to make sure that you are aware of the rules regarding homeschooling. There are several advantages in choosing homeschooling for your child, such as:

• You can follow your own schedule, parents would know what schedule would their child be at their best.
• You can control which area of a particular subject you would want to put emphasis. You are not confined in following one set of curriculum.
• The biggest advantage of homeschooling would be seeing your child grow and learn under your care. As parents, you have more opportunity to get to know your child before you finally let him or her go to a traditional school if ever the need arise.

Many of us have already heard of success stories of from rags to riches. Most of them remain down to earth, sharing their blessings and what they have learned in life to achieved their current status. One of them is my friend Roby who owns a now popular bakery in our city. He started his business with only a small capital. Since he cannot hire many people, he just tapped his family members to work for him.

But then, he wanted to earn more. And so, he himself sell his bread products around the city. Good thing he has Honda SH300i scooter that helps him bring bread products to his valuable customers.

Soon enough, he had known by many people in the city, trusts his products that are cheaper from others plus it has been delivered door to door, that gives them fair convenience. And when he had saved enough capital, he established a better and big bakery. Learning this, I encouraged Roby to share his success story to Honda’s series of documentaries that will be shown on television. He once admitted that if without the durability of his Honda motorcycle, he cannot send more breads to his customers.

Channel 4 will host the series that will be sponsored by Honda UK. I bet it will be very exciting to watch short films that are created by Wieden + Kennedy. I have watched  W+K films and they are really inspiring.

There is a common saying that in every man’s success, there’s a woman behind it. But as for Roby's, he got his Honda behind it.

During rainy season or heavy snow, when the little ones cannot do any outdoor activities they have the tendency to get bored. As parents you need to be creative or else you might hear a lot of whining from the little ones. Being creative is an important skill that stay at home moms must have. Here is a good list of indoor activities for the family:

• Cartoon strip – all you need is pencil and paper and your drawing skills. At the bottom part of the pad paper start drawing stick figures, in each page there should be slight movement done by the stick figure. Once you are done, fan the pages and see how the figure moves just like in the cartoons.
• Feely Box – use a shoe box with lid, then put a hole and place something inside for the kids to feel and guess. The person who gets the highest correct answer wins the game.
• Paper Bag Puppets – this can be the easiest thing to do; all you need is the paper lunch bag and crayons. Then draw a face and viola! you have your own puppet.

Spending time with family does not need to be costly. There are so many things that family can enjoy doing without spending much. It only takes creativity and browsing on sites which provide parenting resources for frugal family activities.

• Visit an amusement park or water park
• Bring the family to a place where the kids can hear different animal sounds, ask them to listen carefully and identify the sounds.
• Play broom hockey using the old brooms at home, find a ball which can be used a puck and start aiming for the goal.
• Camping in the backyard, set up tents and cook barbeque to feel the ambiance of a real camp-out.
• Movie night is a great weekend family activity, enjoy popcorn while watching a fantastic family movie.

Do you need to shout on top of your lungs just to make your kids clean-up their room? If so, then it’s about time that you find ways to make room cleaning fun activity for the whole family. There are ways that will be enjoyable for kids and parenting will be easier too.

• Create a game like who will be the fastest kid to pick up the toys; give small reward afterwards.
• Break down the tasks into smaller ones, instead of saying clean up the room; be more specific in giving instructions. You can start with the toys, later on the kids’ dresser and so on.
• Make your kids’ achievement visible by setting up sticker charts. This will give the kids a better idea on what they have accomplished.

Stay at home moms may encourage their kids to learn how to cook. Once the kids learn how to cook, they have inherited a life-long skill from you. However it is also important that moms at home would teach them to be safe while cooking. One of the basic in kitchen safety is to keep the cooking area safe. There should be no napkins or towels that may catch fire; make sure that the kids’ clothes will not be a fire hazard especially when it comes across the stove.

Another safety reminder is to keep electrical appliances away from the sink. This may cause electric shock to your child can be quite dangerous too. The knives should not be placed in the sink area because the little ones may hurt themselves while washing their hands. Cooking is a fun family activity but parents should always remind the kids about kitchen and cooking safety.
